![]() How do I pay for college? Students who cannot afford college pay for it through a variety of scholarships, loan and grant programs, and work study programs. To access those, you must fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, available at: www.fafsa.ed.gov As a current or former foster child/youth, or as a recently emancipated foster child, you will likely qualify for student aid. Be sure to identify yourself as a current or former foster child on the FAFSA questionnaire, even if you were only in foster care for a short time after age 13. If you answer YES to that question, the chances of substantial financial support greatly increase. After your first year in college, you will fill out a Renewal FAFSA form to get financial aid in your sophomore, junior and senior years of college. |
